How AI for Pet transforms pet healthcare with AI-powered diagnostics
Meet the mobile app committed to making proactive pet healthcare a reality for animal lovers
Unleash the future of vet care: AI for Pet
Man’s best friend deserves the best care– but most pets can’t verbally tell us how they’re feeling. Rooted in a deep understanding of both veterinary science and pet owner anxieties, Korean startup AI for Pet is transforming the landscape of pet healthcare to make accessible, AI-driven diagnostics a reality, helping millions of “pawrents” around the world care for their animal companions.
AI for Pet began with founder Euna Huh's passion for animals and a frustration with the limitations within the traditional pet healthcare model. "Like all living things, pets will fall sick at some point in their lives," says Euna. "I want to help fellow pet owners quickly diagnose any illnesses their pets may have, simply by using a mobile app.” Fuelled by this vision and 25+ years in Big Data and computer science, Euna set out to create a tool that would empower pet owners to take a more proactive and preventative role in their pet's well-being, helping them live longer, happier, and healthier lives.
Sit, stay... scan?
AI for Pet’s TTcare app employs sophisticated AI algorithms to analyze images and videos of a pet's eyes, skin, teeth, and gait to quickly identify potential indicators of various health conditions. The app boasts over 1.4 million scans performed at a 95% accuracy rate, demonstrating the growing demand for reliable and accessible pet health monitoring. This year AI for Pet has also released a pro version, TTCareVet, which provides professional support to veterinarians.
The AI for Pet team uses Google Cloud AI Platform for training and deploying its image recognition models, enabling the high accuracy of TTcare's scans and analysis. Hands-on mentorship from subject matter experts via the Google for Startups Cloud Academy provided crucial expertise in leveraging Google Cloud's infrastructure. "The Google Cloud AI Platform was instrumental in allowing us to train our models effectively," notes Euna. "The infrastructure and support we received were critical to achieving the accuracy we needed."
Google Cloud infrastructure has allowed the development and deployment of the AI algorithms necessary for quickly detecting potential signs of disease. But beyond technical innovation, AI for Pet’s patented AI solution addresses limited access to veterinary clinics for pet owners and the heavy workload faced by veterinarians. By turning a smartphone into a diagnostic tool, TTcare lowers the barriers to proactive pet healthcare, particularly significant for pet owners in remote areas or those facing financial constraints.
Doggone smart
AI for Pet is deeply integrated into the local ecosystem as a participant in the Google for Startups ChangGoo program at the Campus Seoul. "Being part of Campus Seoul provided us with invaluable opportunities to connect with other Korean founders and gain insights specific to our market," said Euna. "The support from the Google team in Seoul has been instrumental in navigating the local market and refining our go-to-market strategy. The resources and network we gained through Google have been critical in accelerating our growth and realizing our vision of making proactive pet healthcare a reality for millions."
Looking to the future, Euna and the team hope to expand analysis beyond physical symptoms to include behavioral science in order to provide a more holistic and comprehensive approach to pet healthcare. "While our current AI focuses on detecting diseases based on visible physical traits, we plan to develop features that can also understand a pet's psychological state," says Euna. “My hope is for animal lovers around the world to never be in the dark about their pet’s health, and for no pet to ever be without healthcare."
